More than two years after the complaint was initiated and 16 months following the Board’s unanimous decision published in the November 2017 Board Meeting minutes, I received notification on March 6, 2019. The notification was inconsistent with the November 2017 decision. Turning again to the Internet for information, I discovered that at the November 2018 meeting, the “Committee on Investigations No. 1 reported that it had reconsidered part of its decision on complaint 2017006-1. Upon reconsideration, the Committee changed the discipline of Dr. Bass from a Letter of Reprimand to a Letter of Caution. The report was approved by the Board.” It was an additional four months before the Board informed me of the decision. Given that the Board interviewed the doctors for more than four hours and less than 20 minutes interviewing me, I can’t say that I was surprised, as the majority of evidence supporting my complaint was never considered or even reviewed.
